Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 sticks mozzarella string cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • oil for frying

  • Mixing bowls

  • Deep skillet or fryer

Method
 

  1. Unwrap mozzarella sticks and pat dry.
  2. Prepare flour, beaten eggs, and seasoned breadcrumb mixtures in separate bowls.
  3. Coat each stick in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for double breading.
  5. Freeze breaded sticks for at least 60 minutes.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry sticks in batches until golden, 2–3 minutes.
  8. Drain briefly and serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

Freezing is essential to prevent cheese from leaking during frying.
