Ingredients
  

Cocktail Base
  • 2 oz bourbon or whiskey
  • 0.5 oz smoked simple syrup
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • orange peel for garnish
  • wood chips applewood or cherrywood

Equipment

  • Rocks glass
  • Mixing glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Smoking cloche or torch

Method
 

  1. Smoke the serving glass using wood chips and a cloche.
  2. Combine whiskey, smoked simple syrup, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
  3. Stir until well chilled.
  4. Strain into the smoked glass over a large ice cube.
  5. Garnish with expressed orange peel and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fruit wood chips for balanced smoke flavor.
