Method
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add chopped onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Drain excess grease if needed, then add ketchup, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and brown sugar.
- Season with paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Simmer mixture on low heat for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
- Toast Texas toast until golden and crisp.
- Spoon sloppy joe mixture onto toast and serve warm.
Notes
Toast bread well to prevent sogginess. Filling can be made ahead and reheated.
