- Brown sausage in skillet and transfer to slow cooker.
- Add chicken and vegetables to slow cooker.
- Stir in tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, and seasonings.
- Cook on Low 5–6 hours or High 3–4 hours.
- Add rice during final 45–60 minutes and cook until tender.
- Remove bay leaves, garnish, and serve.
Notes
Add rice during the final cooking stage to prevent mushy texture. Adjust spice level to preference.
