Ingredients
  

Mushroom Batter
  • 1 lb button mushrooms cleaned
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs large
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Clean mushrooms with a damp towel and trim stems if needed.
  2. Prepare three bowls: flour with salt and pepper, whisked eggs with milk, and breadcrumbs with spices.
  3. Coat each mushroom in flour.
  4. Dip mushrooms into egg mixture.
  5. Roll mushrooms in breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan.
  7. Fry mushrooms in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Serve with ranch dressing, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo for extra flavor.
