Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade
  • 500 g chicken thighs sliced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt optional
Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 0.5 cucumber grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp dill
Assembly
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes sliced
  • 0.5 red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Mix chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare tzatziki by combining yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill.
  3. Cook chicken in a hot skillet until golden and fully cooked.
  4. Warm pita bread in a dry pan.
  5. Assemble gyros with chicken, vegetables, and tzatziki sauce.
  6. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Best served fresh. Chicken can be marinated overnight for deeper flavor.
