Ingredients
  

Chocolate Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
Peanut Butter Swirl
  • 0.75 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or milk

  • 9x13-inch baking pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter with both sugars until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  6. Mix peanut butter swirl ingredients until smooth.
  7. Spoon peanut butter over batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Bake 28–32 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake and allow to set during cooling.
