Method
- Clean squid and slice into rings, then pat dry.
- Mix flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Whisk eggs and milk in a separate bowl.
- Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep skillet.
- Dip squid rings in egg mixture, then coat in flour mixture.
- Fry in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and dipping sauce.
Notes
Do not overcook squid as it can become rubbery. Fry quickly at high temperature for best texture.
