Ingredients
  

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup milk or cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 12 soft caramel candies unwrapped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla.
  4. Mix in dry ingredients and milk until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Wrap dough around caramel candies and place on baking sheet.
  7. Bake until edges are set but centers are soft.

Notes

Do not overbake for gooey caramel centers.
