Main Ingredients
  • 2 large onions cut into rings
  • 12 mozzarella sticks cut into pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs panko preferred
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

  • Deep frying pan

Method
 

  1. Slice onions into thick rings and separate layers.
  2. Place smaller ring inside larger and fill with mozzarella.
  3. Prepare flour, egg mixture, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat rings in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs twice.
  5. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry until golden and crispy.
  8. Drain and serve hot.

Notes

Freeze before frying to prevent cheese from leaking.
