Ingredients
  

Steak & Pasta
  • 1 lb steak sirloin, ribeye, or strip
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini fresh or refrigerated
Cream Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Pot for pasta
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Cook tortellini in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season steak with salt and pepper.
  3. Sear steak in hot olive oil until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and rest.
  4. Slice steak against the grain.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  6. Add heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Simmer gently.
  7. Stir in parmesan until smooth.
  8. Add tortellini and steak, tossing to coat in sauce.

Notes

For best texture, avoid boiling the cream. Reheat gently with extra cream if needed.
