Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
Cookie Dough Layer
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup mini chocolate chips
Caramel Layer
  • 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • sea salt flakes for sprinkling

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and whisk in sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined. Pour into pan.
  4. Prepare cookie dough by creaming butter with sugars, adding milk and vanilla. Stir in flour and fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop cookie dough spoonfuls evenly over brownie batter and gently press.
  6. Drizzle caramel sauce over cookie dough and swirl lightly. Sprinkle sea salt on top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completely.
  8. Slice into squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

Optionally chill for 30 minutes before slicing for cleaner layers. Add nuts or white chocolate for variation.
