Ingredients
  

Dough Base
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg large
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Filling
  • 1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
Coating
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

  1. Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Add egg, butter, and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Mix dry and wet ingredients into a soft dough.
  5. Knead dough until smooth, then let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Divide dough, flatten, fill with chocolate hazelnut spread, and seal into balls.
  7. Fry until golden brown and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

Best served warm for a molten chocolate center.
