Ingredients
  

Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Pat shrimp dry and soak briefly in buttermilk.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat shrimp evenly in breading mixture.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry shrimp until golden and crispy.
  5. Whisk sauce ingredients until smooth.
  6. Toss shrimp lightly with sauce or drizzle on top before serving.

Notes

Serve immediately for best texture. Sauce can be made ahead.
